About the Drugs We Test
We conduct studies on numerous types of drug products. Some are currently marketed drug products for which we are obtaining more detailed information or testing new formulations. Other studies may involve an investigational generic version of a drug product versus the marketed name-brand version.
Any drug product not previously approved and marketed must go through several years of testing before it can enter into human trials. Most drug products will go through 12-15 years of testing before they are approved by the FDA.
All studies we conduct are approved by an IRB (Institutional Review Board). This board’s only function is to review research involving humans and to ensure the drug testing will not adversely impact individuals’ rights and welfare. Without approval from this board, we cannot conduct a study.
